: For a real taste of the absurd, you should read Night, by Wiesel. Are
: you actually claiming that historians now believe that the Nazis tossed

Below, you can read a few testimonies asserting that at times
living people were burnt in the incinerating pits ins Auschwitz.
To my knowledge, the proceedings and findings of the Auschwitz
trial in Frankfurt are considered valid sources by the historians.

p.88:

Seitdem glaubte mir Dr.Wirths alles, was ich ihm sagte.

[_Langbein_: In 1944, living children were thrown into
the big fires burning near the crematoria. We heard
this in the _Stammlager_, and I reported it to the
chief surgeon of the camps. Dr.Wirths didn't want to
believe me. He went out to Birkenau to check it out.
When I came to take dictation from him the next day,
he only said:"This was an order of the camp-commander Hoess.
It was issued, because there wasn't enough gas." After that,
Dr.Wirths believed all, I told him.

[Langbein was an Austrian political prisoner in Auschwitz, who
was "privileged" and working as a secretary for the above mentioned
SS-surgeon, Dr.Wirths. Langbein later became one of the historians
 of the concentration camps.]

[_Fuks_: Once, this would perhaps have taken place in November 1943,
a transport arrived from Latvia. Our command had
to assist at transports, in order to fetch the personal
effects of the arrivals from the wagons. Already, when
the wagons rolled in, the transport stank horribly.
It was so awful, that the camp-doctor Dr.Mengele, who was
standing on the ramp, allowed the SS to withdraw
at once. When we opened the doors to the wagons, we saw at
once: all resembled corpses. Nobody could speak anymore, but
some were still breathing. All were put on lorries, and
thrown into the burning pits. They weren't even gassed first.

_Presiding Judge_: Were some of the transport still alive,
when they were thrown into the pits?

_Fuks_: Yes, some were still alive. ]
