Another former inmate [of >Belsen], Moshe Peer, recalled a miraculous escape from death as >an eleven-year-old in the camp. > >
In a 1993 interview with a >Canadian newspaper, the French-born Peer claimed that he "was The Montreal Gazette August 5, 1993. Story by Karen Seidman. The story was in the back pages in the "West Island" (of Montreal) local news section. >sent to the [Belsen] camp gas chamber at least six times." The >newspaper account went on to relate: "Each time he survived, >watching with horror as many of the women and children gassed >with him collapsed and died. To this day, Peer doesn't know how >he was able to survive." Old news, Matt. When Orest Slepokura first posted on this, I was curious and called Karen Seidman about the article. Seidman said she received a lot of calls from readers who knew better that there was no gas chamber at Belsen. So what have you got really, besides a crazy old man who suffered horribly as a child? And all you can think to do is mock him. But that's just the kind of guy you are. -- John Morris
