KKK, PROTESTERS IN SMALL SCUFFLE AT AUBURN MEETING (Seattle Times, June 16, 1996) AUBURN- There was a minor scuffle yesterday between people attending a Ku Klux Klan meeting and people protesting the meeting, but no injuries were reported and there were no arrests, Aubrun Police reported. The dispute took place at the American Legion Hall at 707 Auburn Way S., as people began arriving for the KKK meeting. A man identifying himself as Bill Albers of Modesto, Calif., the group's imperial wizard, said the meeting was being held to "give white kids a place to go." He estimated thatabout 30 people attended the Klan gathering, but said more had been expected. Protesters and news media outnumbered those who attended the Klan meeting. Protesters marched with signs for about two hours and encouraged passing motorists to honk if they opposed racism and the Klan.
