Witness Statement: Professor Deborah Lipstadt, Emory
University, Atlanta

During Professor Lipstadt's 1994 Australian speaking tour, I
met her at Melbourne and asked her what was motivating her
in her work. She replied that she is seeking the truth - to
which I replied, "So am I".

Subsequently she signed for me a copy of her book, `Denying
the Holocaust,' with the following

`Let truth prevail'

Astonishingly, in her seminar she claimed that "There is
nothing to debate about the Holocaust - there is no
debate!," then went on to libel various revisionists for
their pioneering work, for example, labelling them as
"haters".

I asked her to appear before this HREOC hearing but to date
have not had a response from her.
