Head of Detroit White Supremacists Faces Trial in Canada
by Clyde H. Farnsworth

TORONTO, March 23 - The leader and founder of a white supremacist
music and publishing network based in Detroit is scheduled to go on
trial in Ottawa soon, charged with aggravated assault in a 1993
melee between white-power supporters and anti-racist demonstrators.

[Burdi] is charged in the beating of Alicia Reckzin [...]

Ms. Reckzyn, a founder of Anti-Racist Action [said] Mr. Burdi kicked
her in the face with his steel-toed boots, "cracking my nose on both
sides, just a hair from my eye socket."

[Burdi denies charges, but grand jury-type hearing found sufficient
evidence to try the case]
