Archive/File: people/b/butz.arthur butz.001 Last-Modified: 1994/07/04 "The Sariche's use of Arthur Butz, a Northwestern University professor of Electrical Engineering who wrote 'The Hoax of the Twentieth Century,' as a reference on the Holocaust prompted Peter Hayes, an Associate Professor of Modern GErman History at Northwestern, to issue a response to their campaign. Of Butz's work, Hayes wrote, 'It presents the history of the Holocaust as Heinrich Himmler ... wanted people to believe it occurred. Butz accepts the camouflaging vocabulary of Nazi sources at face value, rejects all other written and eyewitness records ... and thus concocts an account that virtually all professional historians have rejected.'"
