Dear Comrades and Readers:

        This is going to be one of my stranger e-mails, but then this is a
very strange situation.

        As most of you know, some months ago the National Alliance filed a
nuisance lawsuit against me, which I have been handling pro se. In order to
try to bring this episode to an end so I can concentrate on building the
Party and advancing the cause of the Aryan racial struggle, on January 17th,
1997 I made an out of court settlement offering the Alliance plaintiff
everything he asked for in his complaint with the exception of money, which
I do not have to give.

        I have received no official response to this from the plaintiff's
attorney. I have instead received a credible third party contact to the
effect that the lawsuit will be dropped if I agree, publicly, to henceforth
refrain from using the pseudonym "Winston Smith". That's pretty bizarre,
although I am accustomed to bizarre behavior from this source. In fact, it
sounds just weird enough to be legit.

        I have long been aware that, for reasons I simply can't understand,
my use of this particular pseudonym preys on some people's minds to the
point of obsession. I have continued to use it for that very reason. I find
it amusing, but it is an amusement I am entirely willing to forgo if that is
what this man (and those who are backing him financially and paying his
attorney's fees) want in exchange for dropping this absurd lawsuit and
ceasing the campaign of harassment they have engaged in against myself and
the NSWPP.

        I am aware that this whole thing may be a head game on the part of
the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. If
this is what it will take to satisfy these people, if that's what this is
really all about, then hey, guys, you got it. As a "down payment" I will
cheerfully sign my actual name to this e-mail and once I am formally
notified that the lawsuit has been withdrawn and I can get on with my work,
"Winston Smith" is history.
