Peter Skaliks' website introduces him as follows: Welcome to my Web site! Hello my name is Hans-Peter Skaliks and I am from Palgrave in southern Ontario. I have been a secondary school teacher in Ontario since September of 1969. I have basically worked in only two locations, Kipling Collegiate Institute in Etobicoke from September of 1969 until June of 1976 and J. A. Turner S.S. in Brampton from September of 1976 until June of 1999. I have taught the fall semester as the full-time teacher of record in September 2000 and September 2001. My semi-retirement has worked out pretty well. The period from September to January of each school year is still involved with full-time teaching, and I have a number of involvements with charities which keep me pretty busy. Other duties have prevented me from taking any new semester assignments, but I am still keeping my credentials current, just in case the opportunity arises. I am extensively involved with Augsburg Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brampton, where I have served on the Congregational Council for a number of years. PFLAG, Parents Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, also gets a goodly share of my spare time. I serve on the Board of Directors of PFLAG, and try to make sure that I attend the regular meetings on the first Wednesday of each month and on the third Thursday of each month, both held at St. Clements Anglican Church in the Yonge-Lawrence area of Toronto. A more recent activity has been to sit on the board of LC/NA, Lutherans Concerned, a group of Lutheran Christians dedicated to improving the circumstances for LGBT persons within the Canadian Lutheran Church.
