Please find below the German original of Dr. Keren's post. As a native speaker of German I feel qualified to point out to you that the term "ausrotten" used in context with "people" is un-ambiguous. It meens "to kill in a way that nobody is left." Apart from that, the German text speaks of "vernichten", that is "to destroy". The English translation is very accurate. One or two sentences or minor importance have been translated incorrectly, but I have pointed that out in the text. The meaning of the English version changes in no way. [...] >The Nazis have put a SS Officer (a Lt) on trial for killing a number of >jews [Mr Keren doesn't say how many] in, presumbly 1943. >One of the holocaust hate propagandists themes for the development of the >gas chambers is that shooting caused problems amongst the firing squads. >So what happened to Herr Taubner? [...] >And since *everybody* knew about the exterminations, except for the Red >Cross of course, why have a trial at all? You quite correctly pointed on out the most important paradoxa of the NS-state. All of the Jews had to be murdered but the murder had to happen in an "orderly" (you could say "in a German") way. Taeubner was not considered being close to the bolsheviks because he murdered civilians, he was tried because he did so without order. This is clearly visible in the source. The disparity between the unstructured murders of the Einsatzgruppen, the un-limited brutality of the extermination camps and the bueracratic overkill of the SS is striking. Even in Auschwitz, there was a standing order that each killing had to be documented in a special form. This has been interpreted the way that Himmler feared his SS-"Elite" would lose their discipline and descend into barbary. Passages supporting that interpretation can also be found in the verdict of the SS-court. >Yet, at Auschwitz, in 1943, holocaust hate propagandists like Mr Keren >claim that millions/hundreds of thousands of jews have been gassed by >Zyclon B pellets being thrown down [nonexistant] vents. > >Also by this time, holocaust hate propagandists have also claimed that >millions/hundreds of thousands of jews, have been killed in the east by >the Einsatzgruppen [action groups]. Nobody claims that the major part of the holocaust victims were murdered in gas-chambers. The German version of the title cited by Dr. Keren is: Klee, Ernst; Wille Dressen, Volker Riess: _"Schoene Zeiten": Judenmord aus der Sicht der Taeter und Gaffer_, Frankfurt/M.: Fischer, 3rd ed., 1988. 1.) [The English translation is not quite accurate here. Better: "The acting of the accuses is dangerously close to such methods.", N.A.] (S. 191f)
