13th Media Update: Holocaust Denial on Trial Irving v. Lipstadt & Penguin Books Dan Yurman mdoidaho@yahoo.com 03.07.00 This update consists solely of pointers to sources of media coverage of the trial. Closing arguments by plaintiff and defense are scheduled, as of today, to take place starting 03.13. As the proceedings are coming to a close, there is no need to continue to review the current press coverage with an eye on the future. I am discontinuing weekly reviews of the media with regard to sources and highlights. An analysis of a significant portion of English language press coverage of the trial may be published online sometime after the end of the trial. In the meantime, Nizkor will continue to serve as an archive for media coverage of the trial as it occurs. Permission granted to post this list of pointers to media coverage of the trial on any public data network, mailing list, or web site. NIZKOR Press clippings about the trial may be found at this URL. http://www.nizkor.org/hweb/people/i/irving-david/press/irving-v-lipstadt.html This coverage is available in two directories. The first is selected links to HTML formatted news coverage at various media outlets. The second is a much more complete archive of media coverage of the trial in ascii text. Users can download this material using the built-in FTP browser. PORTALS Internet Portals covering the trial with collections of selected news clips about the trial can be found at these URLs. A web portal is defined as an Internet site with multile media and content about a subject. Portals include specific content but also links to related sites and online discussion forums. Of these three sites only Yahoo updates daily as events unfold. http://holocaust.about.com/education/holocaust/library/misc/bllibelnews.htm http://www.virtualjerusalem.com/History/Timetravel/articles/677001.htm http://fullcoverage.yahoo.com/fc/World/Holocaust/
