I've also never seen it mentioned in the Degesch literature on the product, which seems rather odd for a safety feature. Assuming that it were added and then removed, one would still be quite aware of the presence of the gas from its natural odor, which, by the way, is mentioned in safety brochures for the material. Do you have reference to any published technical literature which describes the indicator? ----------------------------------------------------------- "For hatred does not cease by hatred at any time: hatred ceases by love-this is the eternal law." - The Pali Canon 1:5 From bzs@world.std.com Mon Jun 5 04:51:42 PDT 1995 Article: 21804 of alt.revisionism Newsgroups: alt.revisionism Path: news.port.island.net!news.island.net!news.bc.net!info.ucla.edu!library.ucla.edu!csulb.edu!nic-nac.CSU.net!usc!howland.reston.ans.net!gatech!bloom-beacon.mit.edu!world!bzs From: bzs@world.std.com (Barry Shein) Subject: Re: Holocaust Almanac - I.G. Irrationality is indeed the process which would allow one to swallow the statement "tear the child in half". That is an utterly ludicrous impossibility for even a very strong person. I note that in previous discussions involving bodily functions that med student input was quickly forthcoming. It would be most interesting to hear some statistics quoted on the force necessary to tear a limb from a body, let alone rip the trunk open by pulling on the limbs. Anyone who's ever dressed out a small animal for the dinner table knows that you have a tough enough time dismembering the things with a sharp knife, and that tearing apart the muscle, tendons and other connecting tissue with your hands would require a tremendous amount of force, quite beyond the capability of the average human, even a very strong one. The obsession to demonize reaches a new low here, possibly only exceeded recently by Danny Keren's pathetic (and I use that word in its true sense, not as a sarcasm) request for lyrics to the Horst Wessel song that refer to the drinking of Jewish blood. Hearkening back to the recent quote of the Yad Vashem scholar, there was quite enough real evil done during those times to focus on, and it is not necessary to invent same, especially on this sophomoric level. Anyone want to comment on the equally bizarre corollary to this story, the one about throwing babies in the air and catching them on bayonets? (From the Demjanjuk trial and other "accounts".) ----------------------------------------------------------- "For hatred does not cease by hatred at any time: hatred ceases by love-this is the eternal law." - The Pali Canon 1:5
